Opps!

Okay, so after the pre-deployment brief I was really bumming. I mean I was REALLY bumming. I sat around the house in my jammies all day yesterday and fed my kids cereal for dinner. I think though, I was more exhausted than anything. I had been on the go for days because my family was in for TN. We did the beach, dinner, pictures on the beach, and the kids were just back to school after spring break. Not to mention the weekend before my BFF from SC was here visiting with her two kids. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE company but two weekends in a row was pretty overwhelming.

So, where was I? Oh yeah, pre-deployment brief and bumming..........so while sitting around yesterday still thinking of everything that was discussed I longed to hear my love's voice. I frequently call his phone just to hear his voicemail pick up so I can hear his voice. If it rings, I quickly hang up cause I don't want him to think that something is wrong over here on this side. If his voicemail picks up I will either leave him a message or sometimes I just hang up so I can send him a text. On this particular day I decided a text was what would be best just incase those sneaky tears decided to show up unexpectdly. I don't ever want my love to think I am not okay. So, I send HIM a text saying, "what I would do to hear your voice right now".................at least I thought I did..

After sending text I lay my phone down beside me and continue to sit on the couch and do nothing. About 2 hrs passed when my phone starts to ring. I instantly jump thinking my wish was about to come true and my love was calling me. I pick up the phone only to see on caller id that it was a local number I didn't reconize. I answer the phone, and to my suprise there was a man on the other end. The conversation went something like this...

Strange man: Ummm, I received a text message from this number and I am pretty sure you have the wrong number.

Me: Okay ummmm, what did the message say?

Strange man: It said, "what I would do to hear your voice right now"

Me: Oookkkaaayy yeah, that was def sent to the wrong number. I apoligize, I really am sorry!

Strange man: "It's okay, not a problem".

Hanging up the phone, I am in utter shock. Who in the heck did I send a message too that was totally intended for my love. I pick up my phone and head straight to my messages. As soon as I get to my sent messages, I realize that I sent the message to my dear friends husband who lives just up the road from me. I did not know that was him callling me because instead of calling from his cell phone he called from a land line, and he did not know it was me he was calling because he does not have my cell phone number saved in his phone.

So, after figuring out that strange man was actually not a strange man at all, the embarassment set in. I instantly call dear friend and explain what had just happened. Thankfully, she has an incredible sense of humor and knows me well enough to know that I would NEVER hit on her husband let alone send him seductive messages in any way. We laughed about it and that was it, but I am still embarassed. I am sure I will turn red in the face when I see him again. Thankfully, that was all the message said and it wasn't one of those litttle seductive reminders of what my love has waiting on him at home!!

  1. OMG!!! That is hilarious!! I think it would have been slightly less mortifying if he hadn't bothered to call your cell back and just ignored the text he got!
